While searching for a wood burning stove to use with my emergency kit I stumbled across a review for this steel box called the “Folding Firebox” on Youtube. Soon my original plans were in the bin and I bought the Firebox.
I’m glad I did as without a doubt this is one of the best wood/multi fuel stoves on the market. Capable of burning anything from twigs from your yard/campsite to solid fuel tablets, gel fuel cans, recycled wood fuel blocks to charcoal briquettes.
Construction is first rate throughout with precision cut pieces perfectly joined by good strong hinges. The ventilation holes and firestick slots are all cleanly cut without any trace of burr or sharp edges anywhere. The included ash pan and two firesticks follow the same high quality as the firebox. The firebox employs an ingenious design for folding. Once the attached fire grate is hinged up into position the firebox folds up much like a book closing. The ash pan snaps onto the closed firebox and the two firesticks slide into slots and hold the everything closed
100% stainless steel and MADE IN THE USA makes this a must have for your camping or emergency kit, Spend a few dollars more and get the optional boil plate, grill plate and extra firesticks….it’s well worth it.

Good day Ben;
Wondering if you offer any discount on a bulk order of the fireboxes – perhaps 10-20 units.
I received mine a few weeks ago- just had a chance to use it and was impressed by both the function and the construction quality- very nicely done.Regards,
Narcissus
Summarized: The Firebox is; aesthetically appealing, I love the name, logo, and design of the product; functional, it cooks whatever I want, wherever I want, while keeping an all- natural-wilderness-camping feeling; and finally, priced appropriately. Some people might see this as expensive, but for what you get out of it, it’s equivalent to a cast iron skillet.

The bears were just waking up on this trip so we used the main fire to dry out our clothes but the box ( you can just see it in the back) to do all the cooking. We didn’t want the smells of cooking food to get in the clothes. Your firebox went head to head with a primus burner and consistently won at every task.
Like I said. Excellent product

Here’s a lower res photo of how I put the box to good use. The nights were down to -7 and I was sleeping in an ultralight tarp ( no tents). Thus photo shows the view from inside the shelter and the box radiating ( very effectively) into the shelter.

Received the package today. Very happy. Thanks for the speedy service.

Steve, just wanted to tell you my Firebox arrived at our office just a couple of days after I ordered it, I really like it, great design and really well made, thanks for the extra firesticks… I haven’t had a chance to use my Firebox yet, it has been raining almost constantly since and before I got it, maybe today will be the day, just wanted to say thanks for making a well made product that is useful and not Chinese junk…
Blessings,

Good day there, Steve & Shantale.
Just returned from the overnight camp-out in which I tested the FIREBOX Master Combo Kit for the first time.??As impressed as I was watching many of the instructional videos of the stove and kit I was even more stoked to handle it for the first time.
- Though the complete Master Combo Kit was a bit heavier than I imagined but which is no problem at all. It’s so thin when fully packed that it saves lots of room in my ruck-sack. This sure beats hauling around my old heavier & bulkier multi-fuel stove w/fuel bottles!
- Using the Wilderness Innovations magnesium/flint to light some lint with tinder was simple and effective using only a few strikes on the flint. The short shock-cord attached to the scraper is handy and overall it’s a great tool. Mr. Perry Peacock’s Concentrator-Paper and W.I. FireStix is a great idea. While I understand how it works I’m not going to use these two items save for an emergency situation. Good job including these items to the kit.
- The American made pouch with the D-handle is well designed to hold the kit with a room to spare for a few small items; it’s well constructed and should last a very long time.
- FIREBOX: I’m very pleased with the sturdiness and thickness of the steel in the design of this stove. Very solid and will hold up plenty of weight. The opening up and fold-down of the stove is impressive. After starting a fire the first usage of the stove was to melt and boil a pot of snow for drinking and for cooking some dehydrated food. The way you designed the vents aided in creating a very hot and well directed fire. It didn’t take long to get the water boiling.
GRILL PLAGE: it worked great when I cooked up some steaks.
BOIL PLATE: haven’t used it yet but appears to be very serviceable.
EXTRA FIRE-STICKS: a great option to have four (4) of them. Well made and strong.
NALGENE BOTTLE 7 DRINKING CUP: I’m glad that the nalgene bottle is BPA free and the cup is a nice feature that the bottle slips into, which is a space-saver for your rucksack. It’s also serves as a measuring cup (up to 16 oz.’s).- Other uses: the next time we have company on the back deck (over looking the river) I’ll place a brick underneath the stove and start up a fire for light and decoration.
Summary: overall I’d give this quality Kit a 5-Star rating. It was a pleasure dealing with Steve and Shantale. I like that it’s a family owned business and that they take pride in their products. They were helpful on the telephone and also responded to my inquiries via e-mail. They gave me a five dollar military/veteran discount. The free shipping is a big bonus and my FIREBOX Master Combo Kit arrived quickly via USPS Priority Mail, which cost them fourteen dollars and change to ship. I’m pleased that the items are American made!
Respectfully,

Hi Steve,
Just a follow up. Talked to you on 2/23 and my firebox master combo is in my hands today 2/25. That is what I call service. Stove is better than expected can’t wait to use it.
Thanks again,
Jay
Hey man,
I purchased two of your stoves and I love them. I like them better than the more flimsy stoves made from many separate panels that I have seen. I have became aware that there is an upgrade available for the stoves and I would like to bring the ones I own up to current functionality(just the up grade kit;grill plate, boil plate, fire sticks). I would like to purchase 2 of those with 2 carrying cases. Please send all the info I would need to the below email.
Thanks,
John Louis Andries

Hi Steve,
Just to let you know that I finally got my master combo kit today!
The delay was entirely down to the french postal service (the package arrived in France on the 9th March. To call it third world would be to insult the third world – I’m not exaggerating when I say that I received a more efficient mailing service in Afghanistan than I do here. As a result, if you receive further orders from France I recommend that you strongly suggest to the customer that they pay the extra for Fedex or UPS.
The condition was good – a very small dent on the base of the olicamp cup – but nothing to write home about and (this little beauty will receive a few more dents and scrapes before it’s retired, I’m sure.)
First impressions are WOW! What a great package! You were right in the video that the stove and fry pan were made for each other. The stove itself almost has a jewel like quality to the finish – definitely a high end piece of gear, and congratulations on the ingenious engineering which makes this stove so versatile – even my wife’s impressed – and she’s french!
I was prepared for the weight and indeed, part of what attracted me to your product was the robustness of the design combined with easy deployment. I’ve used some of your competitor’s lighter, slot together products and whilst, some of them are great stoves, they’re no fun to assemble with cold hands and don’t have the bomb proof quality of your stove. I would say that this stove is aimed exactly at people like me – people whose outdoor experience runs to excursions from fixed camps and who don’t mind carrying it in and back out. Ultra lighters and backpackers aren’t your target market. I know you’re planning a titanium version – just a word of advice in case you’re thinking of making the grill accessory out of it – titanium, in my experience, is OK for a stove body and as a pure water boiler, but makes for a poor overall cooking surface as it never heats uniformly – too many hot spots. I have always come back to stainless steel and have given up on titanium entirely.
So far I’ve been conducting some living room practice (I can get the accessory plates on one handed – hah!). The weather here is glorious so I’ve promised my wife that we’re going to our favourite lunchtime spot in the forest tomorrow (by a pristine trout stream) where I intend to set fire to it! (bacon and eggs are on the menu!)
I intend to do a photo review for a bushcraft forum that I’m a member of, and hopefully I’ll get round to doing a video review for YouTube.
Thanks again,
Steve
hi the firebox works great how much is the new black bag and broiler plate
-Paul
I have a Firebox and it’s probably one of the best purchases I’ve made in years. What you can’t see from the videos to well is the quality of construction no slop at all, no loose hinges. Everything fits nicely together when folded and is very stable when is use even with a 12″ frying pan on top loaded with ham and eggs.
-Satisfied Customer
hi steve just to let you know my bag and plates has arrived safe and sound with no problems and just over a week thank a million

After seeing your thanks comment, I figured I’d give some feedback.?I just recently have learned the art of grilling, but usually am only cooking for myself; it’s extremely inconvenient to spend 30 minutes firing up a charcoal grill for unbeatable flavor just to cook a half-pound sirloin. xD?So I did some research and learned about “hobo stoves” and was lead eventually to your videos. I don’t have much money to spare at the moment, so I’ll probably end up making my own, but I’ll definitely think about saving up for a Firebox and gladly support you.
-Future Satisfied Customer
Can’t wait, do you have an ETA? BTW, I just ordered a second Firebox, the Deluxe package, 5 minutes ago.
Great product!
Thank you.
-Al
